The SOS on the iPhone status bar means that there is not any cellular network signal, we can only make emergency phone calls. This function can also enable when we press the side button 5 or 3 times in a row. Sometimes, this function irritates us because accidentally pressing the side button multiple times will make a phone call to the emergency center for no reason.

Method 1: How to Disable SOS Function on iPhone Through Settings 

In this method, we will turn off the SOS function with the help of the Settings app on the iPhone device. To do so, follow the below-described steps:

Step 1: Open Emergency SOS Settings

First, launch the iPhone device settings and then choose the “Emergency SOS” option:

Here, toggle all the displayed switches like “Auto call”, “Call with Side Button” and “Call with 5 Presses” to turn off the Emergency SOS on iPhone.

Method 2: How to Disable SOS Function on iPhone Through Siri

Siri is a voice assistant on the iPhone that do different tasks with our voice commands, so, we can also use Siri to turn off the SOS function on iPhone:

Step 1: Activate Siri

We can activate Siri in two ways, in the first one, simply long-press the side button of the iPhone. In the second one, say “Hey Siri” near the iPhone device.

Step 2: Disable SOS Function

After that, say “Turn Off the Emergency SOS” and then Siri will disable the SOS function on the iPhone device:

Method 3: How to Disable SOS Function on iPhone Through Airplane Mode

If the SOS is displayed on the status bar, then we can easily turn it off by enabling and disabling the Airplane mode on iPhone. The steps to perform this operation will be described below:

Step 1: Enable Airplane Mode

First, open the control center by swiping the finger from top to bottom on the iPhone device screen and hit the “Aeroplane” icon to enable the Airplane mode.

Step 2: Wait for Some Time

After enabling the Airplane mode, we have to wait at least 10 to 20 seconds.

Step 3: Disable the Airplane Mode

Simply, swipe from top to bottom on the device screen again and tap on the “Aeroplane” icon at the control center to disable the Airplane mode.

Now, the SOS will be removed from the status bar of the mobile phone. In case if it is still there, move towards the next method.

Method 4: How to Disable SOS Function on iPhone Through Cellular Data

To disable the SOS function with the assistance of the cellular data on the iPhone, follow the below-stated steps:

Step 1: Activate the Cellular Data

Swipe from top to bottom on the device screen to open the control center and then hit the “Cellular Data” icon to activate it.

Step 2: Wait For Some Seconds

Wait for 15 seconds, after activating the mobile data mode.

Step 3: De-activate the Cellular Data

Swipe from up to down with your fingers on the device screen and then hit the “Cellular Data” icon to turn it off.

The SOS function will disable after meeting the above-listed steps.
