How to Access and Customize Android’s System Sounds and Notifications

Android smartphones are very user-friendly devices because they allow us to customize their settings, such as “changing lock screen wallpapers/themes”, “customizing system sounds/notifications” and “changing applications icons and names”. 

This blog will elaborate on the suitable methods to access and customize Android’s system sounds and notifications.

How to Access and Customize Android’s System Sounds and Notifications

We can access or customize sounds and notifications of the Android system with the help settings. Settings contain multiple built-in options that allow us to manage or adjust with different utilities. To do so, follow the procedure explained in the next section.

How to Change the Ringtone Sound on the Android System 

We can change the ringtone on the Android system from the sounds and vibration tab from settings. The proper steps to get started with this process are stated below.

Note: Steps may vary as it all depends on the OS provided by the manufacturer.

Step 1: Open Sound and Vibration Settings

First, navigate to the settings of the Android phone and then choose the “Sound and Vibrations” option:

Now, tap on the “Phone Ringtone” option and then choose any of the ringtones according to your preference:

If we do not like any of the default ringtones then we can set the customized ringtone by following the next section.

How to Set Customize Ringtone Sound on the Android Smartphone

We can set the customized ringtone on the Android phone with the assistance of many third-party apps, such as Zedge and Music Ringtones. However, we will utilize the Zedge application here because it also has plenty of notification sounds and wallpapers. To set the custom ringtone on the Android phone from the Zedge application follow the below-listed steps:

Step 1: Download the Zedge App

First, install the Zedge application from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Select the Ringtone

Here, tap on the “ellipse” icon and then choose the “Ringtones” option.  After that, select any of the “Ringtone” that we want to set on the Android phone:

Step 3: Download & Set the Ringtone

Now, select the “Download” tab. It will display multiple options, so we can directly set the ringtone by choosing the “Set Ringtone” option.

Alternatively, to manually set the customized ringtone choose the “Save to Media folder” option.

How to Set the Customize Ringtone Manually

Open the phone ringtone settings tab and then choose the “Ringtone from Internal Storage” option. Finally, select the “Downloaded” ringtone option.

These steps can also be followed to set the customized notification sound from the Zedge application.

How to Customize the Notification Settings on the Android Phone

We can customize different settings of the notifications on the Android smartphone, such as “pop-up message” and “silent inappropriate notifications”. The in-details steps to do this operation are described below:

Step 1: Open Notification Settings

Go to the “settings>Apps and notifications” options and then choose the “Notification” option:

Now, select any application that we want to customize its notification settings. It will display various options on the device screen.

Step 3: Customize the Notification Settings

Next, choose the “Message Notifications” option from the list, here, we can disable the pop-up message and change the sound of the notification. 

We can also stop displaying the Whatsapp notification from the lock screen by hitting the “Lock screen” tab and selecting the “Don’t Show Notification at all” option. 

So, we can customize the notification settings of all the installed apps by following the above-stated steps.
