The “HDMI Device Link” feature manages the power state of both PS5 and your TV.  When we turn on the TV, the PlayStation also turns on because the HDMI link is enabled. This feature can cause the problem for the PS5 keeps turning off. To fix this issue, disable this feature through the following steps: 

Step 1: Open the settings of the console.

Step 2: Select the “system” option and then select the “HDMI” option.

Step 3: Select the “HDMI Device Link” option and then press the “X” button on the controller to turn off this feature.

These steps will disable the HDMI device link feature and will fix the problem.

Fix 3. Update the Firmware of the Console

Some software glitches can also cause this issue which can be resolved by updating the system software to the latest version. Follow the below steps to update the software of the PS5 console:

Step 1: Connect the PS5 console to the internet.

Step 2: Launch “settings” and then select the “system” option.

Step 3: Select the “System Software” option and then select the “System software update and settings” option.

Step 4: Select the “Update System Software” option on the screen.

Step 5: Select the “Update Using Internet” option and then select the “Update” option to start the updating process.

This process will update the firmware of the PS5 console and might resolve the issue.

Fix 4. Disable the Rest Mode from the Console Settings

If the console goes shut down after entering the Rest mode, then you should have to disable the Rest mode. Follow the steps given below to disable the rest mode:

Step 1: In the settings menu select the “System” option.

Step 2: Select the “Power Saving” option and then select the “Time until PS5 Enters rest mode” option.

Step 3: Choose the “Don’t Put in Rest Mode” option on the screen.

Following the above steps will disable the “Rest Mode” and will fix the problem.

Fix 5. Clean the Console to Prevent Overheating

When the console overheats,  it shuts down automatically to protect the components of the hardware. To avoid overheating, simply unplug the console and wait 30 minutes to cool it down. After that, clean the console with a soft microfiber cloth and then restart the console again.

Fix 6. Rebuild the Database of the PS5 console

Follow the below-mentioned steps to rebuild the database of the console:

Step 1: Power off the console by holding the power button until it sounds like the two beeps.

Step 2: Press the “PS” button to connect the controller to the console using a USB-C type cable.

Step 3: Turn on the console, and the safe mode options will be displayed.

Step 4: From the safe mode menu, select the “Rebuild Database” option and then Select the “OK” option. 

This process will rebuild the database of the console and the problem will be resolved.

Fix 7. Contact Customer Support

If all the above fixes don’t resolve the issue then the console might be defective. So in that case, simply contact PlayStation customer support and tell them the issue of PS5 keeps turning off.
